20.000 KM: The Power of a Bicycle

After passing the 20.000 km mark we realise that our home is close. But we feel the journey should continue in another way, also after we get home…

We met hundreds of heartwarming people that smiled, waved, talked, shared their stories and took us inside their homes. We experienced that cycling connects people and cultures and that it is a tool for positive change. Noticing the power of cycling communities in Kazakhstan, Iran and Thailand, and cycling between the school children on a bicycle in Cambodia and Uzbekistan. So we decided to start raising funds for a non profit organisation called Word Bicycle Relief (WBR).

Because cycling:

🚲 Improves access to education, work, healthcare and has several economical benefits

🌎 Improves mental and physical health, but also is a sustainable way to care for our planet

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Empowers and connects people and creates open-mindedness

🍀Makes you more aware of your surroundings and your role in a community

WBR gives bicycles to people who need them, especially in rural and remote communities around the world. The bicycle enables students to attend school, healthcare workers to reach patients, and entrepreneurs to expand their businesses more easily. The organization focuses on empowering communities through the mobilizing power of bicycles, with a focus on girls and women. Up untill today WBR has donated 750.000 bicycles and their goal is 1.000.000 in 2025!
